The Custom Sculpture Commission Process

At AnyBodySculpture, we believe every body tells a unique story, and we are honored to create custom sculptures that celebrate individuality. Whether you're commissioning a piece to commemorate a life milestone or to capture a transformation, our process is designed to be collaborative, respectful, and deeply personal. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you understand how we work together to bring your vision to life.

1. Initial Inquiry

The journey begins with you. Once you reach out via the contact form, I will personally review your request. To get a sense of your vision, I'll ask you to share some initial thoughts about what you hope to capture in the sculpture—whether it’s an expression of your unique form, a personal narrative, or an emotional moment. This is also where we can discuss your preferred timeline and any other details you feel are essential.

2. Consultation & Concept Discussion

Once we’ve connected, we’ll schedule a one-on-one consultation—either in person (for local clients) or virtually (via Zoom or similar platforms). During this conversation, we’ll dive deeper into your vision. I’ll ask more about the story behind your commission and discuss artistic options such as size, posture, and mood of the sculpture.

We’ll also go over practical details like your budget and any specific customization requests. Whether you’re commissioning a piece for your personal collection or as a gift, this consultation helps me understand how best to translate your ideas into form.

3. Visual References & Material Submission

For clients opting for a custom sculpture, you'll be invited to submit reference materials. These can be self-portraits, personal videos, or professional photos that capture your likeness. Rest assured, all materials are kept confidential and treated with the utmost respect. If you’d prefer, I can arrange for a professional photographer to assist in creating the reference materials.

This step ensures that we have a clear, detailed starting point for the creative process, while still leaving room for artistic interpretation.

4. Proposal & Agreement

Based on our consultation and the materials provided, I will draft a formal proposal. This document will outline the concept of the sculpture, the dimensions, material choice, and pricing details (available in CAD or USD). Additionally, the proposal will include a timeline for completion and options for payment, which can be structured in installments: an initial deposit, a progress payment, and a final payment upon completion.

Once you’ve reviewed and approved the proposal, we’ll formalize our agreement, and the creative work can begin!

5. Creation Phase

With your vision as the foundation, I’ll begin sculpting your piece. I work using a mix of traditional hand-sculpting techniques and contemporary methods to bring out the emotion and depth of each sculpture. Depending on the complexity of the project, this phase can take anywhere from several weeks to a few months.

Throughout this period, I will provide you with periodic updates, including photos of the progress, to ensure that you are involved and confident with how the piece is developing.

6. Review & Refinement

As the sculpture nears completion, you’ll have the opportunity to review the work. I always allow space for minor adjustments based on your feedback—whether it’s a small shift in posture, expression, or texture. My goal is to make sure the piece resonates deeply with your expectations.

This step reinforces the collaborative nature of the commission process. Every detail matters, and your input is invaluable.

7. Delivery

When the piece is complete, we will arrange for secure delivery or pickup based on your location. For international clients, I offer professional packing and shipping services to ensure your sculpture arrives in perfect condition.

Each piece is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity, ensuring the uniqueness and exclusivity of your commission.

8. Unveiling Your Sculpture

This is the moment where your vision comes to life. Whether it’s a deeply personal keepsake, a celebration of body diversity, or an intimate artistic expression, your sculpture will be a testament to your journey. I always encourage clients to share their thoughts and feelings after receiving their custom piece—it's an honor to hear how the work resonates with you
